Our 200-400 lb. Estate Boulder reproductions are the practical alternative to the cost and difficulty of acquiring, moving and installing a real boulder weighing up to 2 1/2 tons, an expensive and time-consuming procedure that almost always requires extra manpower, a crane or other heavy equipment.

In addition, our customers appreciate being able to choose the shape and color of the large boulder(s) they want installed in their residential or commercial landscape project rather than the usual process of contacting a quarry or building materials supplier who will deliver whatever rock is available in the approximate size requested, whether it's attractive to them when it arrives at their doorstep or not.

How To Compare Prices: Replica vs. Real Rocks

We're often asked if it's less expensive to purchase a real rock locally versus one of our large replicas. The answer is that many suppliers will often charge 10 cents per lb. for natural boulders which, when compared to our 2 1/2-ton artificial rocks, would cost about $500 each. However, then the manpower and equipment to move the real rock into place needs to be considered.

Consider that the cost to rent a crane with an operator is approximately $150 per hour and the cost of labor at $25 per hour per man and our Estate Boulders start looking like a good idea to most of our customers, even after the price for shipping is factored in.

After being delivered our Estate Boulders can be lifted and placed by two to three men. While our customers like the fact they can easily move the rocks in the future if necessary to create a new landscape layout, they really enjoy surprising their friends and neighbors

Why Shipping Costs Need To Be Quoted Individually

Due to their size, our Estate Boulders need to be placed on a pallet and shipped via a common freight carrier instead of going by FedEx Ground like our smaller ones.

We'll need to find out a few things before we can give you an accurate quote for shipping, including which Estate Boulders you are considering to order, the destination zip code, if the delivery destination is a business or residential address, if a forklift or unloading dock is readily available (if it's a business address), and if advance notification is needed before the freight company arrives at the destination.

Please Note--It's most expensive shipping to a residential address since freight companies charge extra due to the more limited access, difficulty parking and the fact they have to dispatch a liftgate-equipped truck to make the delivery since forklifts or unloading docks aren't available.

Helpful Tip--If you have a friend or family member who owns a business, it will save money to have the boulder(s) delivered there--even if they don't have a forklift or unloading dock and a liftgate-equipped truck is needed to drop it off. After the boulder is delivered to the business address, it can be transferred to a pick-up truck and taken to your residence.
